Fred Niederman appointed at Senior Research Associate at the Schöller Future of Work Lab
The Dr. Theo and Friedl Schöller Research Lab “Future of Work” at FAU announces the appointment of Fred Niederman, Professor at the Saint Louis University, as Senior Research Associate. Prof. Niederman is Shaughnessy Endowed Professor at SLU and brings extensive academic expertise in information systems, with a particular focus on the future of work, digital transformation, and IT workforce research. His work in IS personnel and futures studies has contributed significantly to understanding how technological change reshapes organizational and work environments.
In addition to his research contributions, Prof. Niederman has held several leadership roles within the international information systems community. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Communications of the Association for Information Systems from 2020 to 2023, chaired the ACM Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems (SIGMIS), and was named Fellow of the Association for Information Systems in 2020.
In his role at the Schöller Future of Work Lab, Prof. Niederman will collaborate closely with the research team and support graduate students through mentoring and joint research activities. His appointment strengthens the lab’s international perspective and contributes to its mission of advancing and disseminating innovative insights into the digital transformation of work.
